Hi,
a friend of mine asked me what router should she get. She uses BT as ISP and
needs it to be wireless. She had dlink and it started going crazy on her
changing values on its own etc. Long time ago I got a 3 com and it's working
really well except that it doesn't like Mac's. She just needs a router, that
won't hang and has wireless connection. And ideas what should I suggest her
to get excpet for 3com? Thanks
Kind retards,
Raphael

D-Link would be bottom of my list as I've had nothing but trouble in
the past with it doing what you describe, it just likes to disagree
with you from time to time and change all the configuration, usually
back to defaults.

Netgear DG834G(T) would be my 1st choice. I use one at home and I've
fitted loads of the wired and wireless versions over the past
couple\few years and not had any troubles yet.

And I'll vote for Netgear as well. In my experience, Linksys routers fail
more frequently than Netgear or DLink, and Dlink are a pain to set up
because their menus are not as intuitive and you need to save every change
explicitly and then reboot the router, otherwise your changes tend to get
ignored.

Netgears are dead easy to set up and they have a log file to give the reason
for any failures.
