www.ukonline.co.uk - cheap if you are in a UKO area

Hi folks,

I'm looking at a new ISP for my broadband and I, obviously, want to get the
most for my money.

As someone who prodominently works from home I am after a reliable and fast
line, and but I'm not so worried about an unlimited service, as long the
limit is towards 10GB a month. I don't use P2P software, or download music,
etc ... we browse the web, download game demos/patches, sometimes use VOIP
software and I download/upload work source code.

Now I know that lots of people don't appear to like PlusNet on this
newsgroup, but I was wondering what people thought about the PlusNet Premier
package, this offers a 30:1 contention ratio for £21.99 on a 2GB line.

Other than that, the best other provider appears to F2S (referenced from
adslguide.org.uk) and I was wondering what people had to say about these
chaps. I believe that F2S may have been bought out recently and, if so, has
anyone noticed any change in service?

I really want objective comments, I don't want to start a flame war ... but
obviously welcome any help that people can provide.

Many thanks.

Thanks for this, however I had already disregarded this ISP after viewing
their comparison on ADSL Guide
(http://www.adslguide.org.uk/isps/com...action=Compare)

Do you use UKO, or a have positive experience with them? It's hard to tell
what's good and what's not, so personal views/experiences are good to hear,
IMHO.

Many thanks.

Am signing with them now that my NTL is expiring - the price grabbed me, as
well as them rolling out 22 meg (and they have 8 meg as now)

Demon, or if you're in a Telewest area - Blueyonder.

I'd avoid Plusnet like the plague. Although if you can get a "2GB"
connection for £21.99, got for it ;o)

2M line - http://www.metronet.co.uk/adsl/paygo
£18.75 if you don't exceed 10 GB or £22.99 if you don't exceed 90 GB.
PAYG after that up to price caps. £70 setup, no email address
included.

Demon HomeOffice2000 £25/month 12 mo contract works fine for me.
Probably free modem & setpu a.t.m.

Tiscali - dialup speeds at Broadband prices, see

AOL - the unlimited ISP of choice for heavy downloaders.

I have just cancelled my BT Yahoo broadband that I have had for 5 years.

I really got spurred on to change because I just feel that I could get the
same product for less somewhere else, and also other ISPs are getting better
ratings when you look at the comparisons. I must admit that I have never
had any problems with the BT broadband, no problems with speed/ping deplays,
etc and the service level has been good. The other reason for wanting a
change is that I am moving house and, with the new mortgage being so large,
I just thought that the £29.99 a month was a little steep.

I have always had Zen in the back of my mind, I'll give them a look up.

Cheers.

He posted, word for word, the same recommendation in the last three
threads so I guess he does use them - or works for them.
