I cannot get adsl-start to work with my new distro, fedora core 3. Works
just fine with redhat 9. The thing times out and never connects in fc3. The
major difference that I see in the distros is the kernel;

redhat 9 kernel - 2.4.20-31.9
fc3 kernel - 2.6.9-1.667

Are there any known issues with pppoe and kernel versions? I have sel-linux
and firwall turned off and still cannot connect with the 2.6 kernel. Also
tried turning off ipv6. The 2.4 kernel connects just fine.

Kernel had nothing to do with it, problem was spotted by Trygve Selmer in
comp.os.linux.networking. Trygve noticed that the eth devices were
reversed in my posted ifconfigs.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
ifconfig working rehat 9 machine:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:04:26:A4:62
---------------------------------------------------------------------
ifconfig non-working fc3 machine:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:04:26:A4:62
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Swapping the ethernet cables solved the problem. Thanks everybody.
