I've just installed Mandrake 10.1 but now I cannot connect to the internet
through it.

I have got a DialCom modem connected to a Realtek 8139 network card. The
linux successfully recognizes the network card but the connection cannot be
established. I've tried to connect using that drake-* thing and also
adsl-setup but all with no success.
Whenever i try to connect the modem light start flashing (as usual) but the
connection cannot be established without any reasonal explanation.

Here is a log of the ppp session:

You should post outputs " /sbin/route -n " and " /sbin/ifconfig"

Can you ping the modem

I don't believe you need this ppp stuff. I have a DSL modem feeding an
ethernet card which gets its address from the modem via DCHP.
The modem itself carries the necessary logon info, which is completely
invisible to the network.
You only need to have the card and modem talking to each other.
