| My niece has a Philips SNA6500 wireless ADSL modem/router that her
| wireless-enabled laptop uses as a gateway to the internet via her ISP
| Pipex - so far, so good.
|
| She's going to be spending a couple of weeks at her grandma's house and they
| get internet access from a cable company (
www.wightcablenorth.net in
| Carlisle, UK). If she takes her laptop and her router with her, will she be
| able to use the laptop wirelessly to access the internet?
|
| I understand that she'll not be able to use the ADSL side of the router but
| would it be possible to connect her router to the cable router by using the
| ethernet ports, the cable router would then act as the gateway to the
| internet, and the wireless side of her router would allow her to use her
| laptop around her grandma's house - if that makes sense?

)
|
| And if it should work, would it need a straight cable or a crossover cable
| between the two routers?
|
| Cheers,
|
| John.

Is Grandma using just a Cable Modem or is she also using a cable/DSL Router as well ?
