Now that's interesting......
I'm currently on a very stable 1Mbps connection (53dB att. and 15dB SNR)
but I had to have a manual order put through to get this (BT's line
checker at the time said I should get 256Kbps or possibly 512Kbps!).
BT's line checker now says that "your line should be able to support a
potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 500Kbps or greater."
According to the SNR/attn. based checker at
http://212.23.23.177/calc.asp I should get around 2200Kbps!
OK, I accept that 2200Kbps (or even my current 1Mbps) is indeed "500Kbps
or greater" but somehow I don't think that's what the BT line checker
has in mind in it's statement!!
