ADSL Line check

shortly moving to a new house with a BT line, been on ntl previously. when i
ring BT and ask for the line to be connected will they check the line for
adsl performance even though i have no intention subscribing to bt
broadband.

No they will only do tests to ensure that the voice side of things work.
They will only do ADSL tests after you have ordered it through somebody
and then only if things appear borderline.

check the line for yourself and then pay the ISP of your choice to do the
work you pay them to do.

You can check your line using numourous checkers, heres BT's one from my
website, there are 2 in there in new user forum

Probably not. If you ask them about broadband, they sometimes take that as
gospel you'll want it from them.
