My exchange (Woodhall Spa) has just hit it's trigger level to be upgraded.
BT have not set a date yet to upgrade, but I was wondering if anyone know
more-or-less it usually takes to get upgraded. I'm not asking for specifics,
just a ball-park figure. I was told 4-6 weeks, but I find that hard to
believe!

Thanks.
Pete.

Can't help with your question Peter, but I watched Woodhall Spa zoom
up the ratings over the last month, any tips?

It varies greatly between exchange to exchange. Influences such as
upgrade complexity, engineer availability, even down to the physical
space within the exchange affect the upgrade processes, between an
exchange being triggered and an RFS date being allocated.

In most cases though, its a few months - 3 usually. Though there are
instances of more and better for you - less.

don't know!
Good luck.

Pete.

Thanks Peter, I have been trying to kick start the Kimberley,
Nottingham exchange campaign, which is now up to 97%, (243 out of
250), so only another 7 pre registrations for the trigger point. If
anyone is on the Kimberley exchange, (which includes Nuthall,
Kimberley, Watnall and Giltbrook), and is not yet registered, please
do so, and get those last 7 places filled.

There are two timescales involved here.

First, you have to wait until BT issue an RFS (Ready For Service) date. This
could take a couple of weeks, sometimes more.

Second, the time from getting an RFS date to actually being enabled is then on
average 88 days (minimum 69, maximum 112). These figures are calculated from the
exchanges enabled so far.

Keep an eye on www.samknows.com/broadband/rfsannounce.php

This will tell you all you need to know.

Ah if only it were. Have to wait until early February myself and despite
not wanting to wish my life away it would be nice to get there somewhat
more quickly.
