ADSL ethernet modem

Hi everyone,

I got a question about adsl ethermodems.
Is it possible to connect an ADSL ethernetmodem directly to a switch,
and go from there on to multiple PC's??

I have to know this for some people I know who want to have ADSL at home
for 2 pc's

Yes, but you'll then need multiple IP addresses from your ISP, which
might result in extra charges. Using a router makes all the PCs share
one address.
