ADSL disconnect when phone used

MY Tiscali ADSL connection has taken to disconnecting whenever the phone
rings or I take it off hook to make a call. I can then hear a high frequency
tone being injected down the line when I use the phone. Is this likely to be
a microfilter issue, and does anyone know if the Tiscali supplied filters
are particularly bad? Is there much difference between the microfilters
available?

Cheers,

Gerry

IMHO this is entirely compatible with a microfilter problem, and would
certainly be my first port of call if it was me. I`ve never had a problem
myself with them (even the 1.25ukp ebuyer ones) but know others that have.
The ones supplied to you are probably of rubbish quality, so I`d try some
new ones (or borrow a friends).

First up check to make sure all of your telephone equipment is filtered.
You must ensure that everything is filtered including modems built in to
things like sky digiboxes and house alarms.

There is a comparison of filter performance available at

I use Tiscali BB with the cheapest Ebuyer filters and have no problems at
all.
