ADSL / Caller Display Conflicts

Has anyone experienced conflicts between their braodband modem and
caller display. Whenever my SMC 740 router / modem is turned on my
caller display stops working. The caller display is part of my DECT
BT Synergy handset. When I disconnect the router / modem it works
fine again.

BT have tested the line: no problem.

My 2M ADSL provided by Bulldog works fine also.

Any ideas?

Which filter are you using?

A better quality one such as http://www.adslnation.com/products/xf-1e.php or
http://www.clarity.it/acatalog/ADSL_Installation.html may help.

This is caused normally by using cheap filters (normally non-BT approved
ones) this have less components in them and this lack of quality means some
signla leakage is caused. If you buy a more expensive filter you should find
the problem goes away.

A very good filter is this one:

Thanks for those suggestions. I am using an Excelsus Z-Blocker. Is
this considered a good splitter or not?

------------------

Dunno about the above but an alternative to those mentioned would be a
Fujitsu FDX-100.
Something I use with a BT dect phone and caller display and works absolutley
fine.

It's not bad but is known to have some problems especially the early
Z-420UK that has been replaced by the Z-420UK-A. They are very common as
for a long time they have been the standard one supplied by BT/Alcatel.
They score 4 stars on our rating system. You will also find a list of
equipment that we know about problems with this filter.

Thanks to you all for your suggestions - it's great to know that the
internet can still be as friendly a community as it was in the early
days!

I've bought a better splitter from ADSL Nation - great service,
thanks! - and CLI is now working again on my phone.

Anyone want to but a cheap Z-Blocker....?
