ADSL cabling question

My Zen ADSL activation is due on friday and I am about to start preparing
for the cabling. Currently I have one standard BT master socket in the
house - in completely the wrong location for both phone and ADSL modem. As
my phone and PC are next to each other, is it possible to run a standard
phone extension lead off the master socket (e.g. http://tinyurl.com/py88) to
where both my PC and phone are and then use a microfilter? For example:

[Master Socket]
|
|
[10m extension kit]
|
|
[Micro Filter]
| |
| |
[Phone] [ADSL modem]

Would this arrangement be suitable?

many thanks,
df

Yes, because then you'll have -

[Exchange]
|
|
[up to 3.5km copper wire]
|
|
[Master Socket]
|
|
[10m extension kit]
|
|
[Micro Filter]
| |
| |
[Phone] [ADSL modem]

So the 10m extension isn't going to make much difference to the 3.5km.

Rod.

As others have said, this is possible. I setup my sisters adsl last week
with the following kit...

master box -> 10m extension cable -> filter -> adsl modem

Thanks for the help guys - just laid the extension cable and found to my
surprise that my connection had already been activated so I'm online earlier
than expected!
