Adsl and ADT monitored alarm

I get adsl next week Adt want £115 to put a filter on alarm line, money for
old rope I think. Can I wire the alarm to the telephone side of an ADSL
filter myself, I can't see a problem any advice please

Are you using Redcard with ADT?

If you haven't got redcare, then you probably have a standard analogue modem
built into "digicom" type interface in the alarm. Hopefully there is a BT
block terminal next to the alarm, then swap this for an extension socket and
plug in a microfilter. Cost you about a tenner, all in. Don't forget a
filter for your sky digibox, if you have one plugged into the phone line.

I had the same problem. There is no BT block terminal near the control
box. It was a question of paying ADT £100-£125 or keeping the second
line (£9.50/month) for broadband. I went for the second option.

I modified a microfilter with a flying lead joined onto the telephone side
and crimped the alarm cables through alarm seems to work all ok
