administrative share via unc not working

Hello

After renaming a few of our servers I see that the administrative share
via unc is no longer working, giving the error message "\\server1\c$ the
network path was not found". However, using ip-adress works fine
(\\192.168.0.1\c$).

Is this a bug in windows and more importantly, how can I correct it?

I would check the DNS and WINS records first. Can you net view \\server1?

Hello

DNS is fine and we dont use WINS (win2k3 native domain).
I can view \\server1 without any problems same goes with file://\\server1.
