Additional server

Hi,

I've got a Win2K domain w/3 DC's. I would like to begin
to move to Win2K3 DC's. I'm curious though is it as easy
as running the adprep (fst & dmn) and then installing the
new Win2K3 server and promo'ing it?

I will be maintaining my 2K DC's for awhile yet hoping to
just retire the older DC's as budget allows.

Also - will my 98SE boxes play nice with an updgraded (to
Win2K3) AD?

I believe that is it. The Global Catalog role won't change automatically
though, so you have to set that item yourself.

Yea, just keep WINS Server running. If you have trouble with them no seeing
anything in Net'Hood you might want to be the patch in Q238853

Regarding the GC - are you referring to activating the GC
for the new 2K3 box in Sites and Serv's?

Then just add the 2003 Servers as member servers. If you need, you
can always DCPromo them to a DC later.
