I am sending a domain controller to an offsite location. I will be using a
different subnet offsite.

Should I add this subnet to AD Site & Services and move the server to it
before I take it offsite? or do it after it has been moved.

Thanks,

I'd do it now.

If you dont mind another question:

I created a new Site - DisasterRecovery
I created a new subnet and attached it to that site.

I am now going to have to move the server to that site - but should I change
the IP address first? Also once I do that since I am on 192.168.2/24 and the
new site is on 192.168.5/24 I will not be able to see that machine on the LAN
until I move it. Is there anther way to work around that. Sorry my networking
skills are lacking here.

Thanks,

No worries. I get confused with this stuff too sometimes. I would do this -

Create the site & assign the subnet
Leave the server in the main site until ready to ship it
Change the server's IP and shut it down
Move the server to the new site in AD

Hello SJMP,

Change the ip address of the DC for the new location and shut it down. Then
configure AD sites and services for the new situatuion and move the DC.

Best regards
