Hello all,

I am adding a new site for our new satelite office. Our home office is
running windows 2003 std server with ad,dns, dhcp and exchange 2003. Internal
private address scheme of 192.168.1.x. I need to setup a dc with
3-workstations in the new office and establish communications via a broadband
connection between the home office and the new satelite office. I am not
quite sure how to properly configure and add the new dc to our existing
forest (when it will be on a different subnet)and how to configure the new
subnet to communicate with our home network. Would appreciate any
feedback......

That isn't really a newsgroup question - more like an outline for a book
(or at least several chapters of one).

The first thing is the connection. You can't just connect them over the
Internet. You will need to set up a secure LAN to LAN connection (such as
VPN).

When you have that in place and routing correctly, you need to look at
DNS. Will you use just one DNS server for the whole network or set up a DNS
server in the second site and make each DNS server a secondary of the other?
If you have any legacy machines or applications, you will also need to look
at Netbios name resolution (such as WINS).

When that all works, setting up the AD site is the easy bit. You just
create the site in AD and move the machines into it.
