Hi experts

Windows 2003 Eng server and Ris installation.

I have problems to generate the .pnf file based on the .inf and .sys file in
the i386 folder. Is it possible to get at trace/log file when restarting the
binlsvc service?

Thanks
Stefan Hammar

What type of nic are you adding? Many nics either require
specific .inf files for RIS, or modification to the
existing .inf to work correctly with RIS.

the "modified" inf file only goes into the \i386 folder,
the full unmodified drivers still reside in $oem$\$1
\Drivers\Nic (or wherever you decide)

It's not normally an issue beyond that. "normally"

Tony.

It is possible that the HP drivers won't work with RIS.
(my dell D800 drivers didn't)

try these:

http://www.broadcom.com/drivers/downloaddrivers.php

put the .inf, .sys and .cat in the i386 folder, with the
others (including these three) in the $oem$\$1
\Drivers\Nic and make sure you edit the .sif files
appropriatly - and restart the service.

Incidentally, which part of setup is failing?
