I am migrating a old server to new, with a different name. However I want
users to be able access using the old name. How can you add a second name to
windows 2003. I know I could do static WINS and host in DNS. But I want to
add second name.

A Windows machine can only have one name per OS installation. If you use a
DNS alias, you should disable strict name chacking:

The correct way would be to:
1. move all the "stuff" to the new machine.
2. Make sure everything is correct with it.
3. rename the old machine to a completely different name.
4. remove the old machine from the LAN
5. rename the new machine with the old name
