How to add / remove Require Validation by Network in win 98

I have a system that we aquired durning a corperate buy
out. This system requires to have a vaild user ID and
password for a domain that no longer availible. It
requires this password to get in the system. You can't by
pass it in normal mode but you can by pass it in safe
mode. How can I remove this block?

Untick the box in client for ms networks properties saying log onto NT
domain.

Also you might remove the registry value "MustBeValidated" from

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Network\Logon
