I have SBS2003 standard, amd am getting an error when
attempting to install a HP 2500 colour laserjet printer
which I have had running in our p2p environment and am now
moving to be locally attached to the Server.

I have tried both the HP install CD and the Add Printer
wizard (after reading some posts on this issue) but
neither have worked. The Add Printer Wizard displayed an
error at the end when I click "Finish" which says "Unable
to install printer. Either the printer name was typed
incorrectly or the specified printer has lost it's
connection to the server."

Does SBS2003 support locally attached printers? Any reason
why this particular printer should be a problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

yep - have done that. Even applied a communications patch
for 2003 so I'm not sure it's a driver problem. Anything
else I should consider?

Did you try to add printer to "local printer" or "Networked printer"?

What type of port you selected?
