After I upgarded from 95 to 98SE, I could not connect to
Internet. I am using high speed internet. The NIC (ISA) is
good and can be seen from the Device mgr.
If I add the client/adapator/protocols(TCP/IP) from the
Control Panel/Network, it does not show anything there
after I reboot. In the Devide Mgr, a red cross is on the
Adaptor which says it is disabled in the hardware profile.
I can enable it and repeat the process above. But same
thing happens after I reboot.
I also tried to de-install and re-install the
Communication components from the Control PAnel/Add Remove
Program, and then in the Network property, a Dial-up
Adaptor showed up. However, I am using the high-speed
internet. Then I deleted the Dial-up Adaptor, and added
the NIC adaptor. It was the same that the adaptor could
not show up after I reboot.
Did you have any experience on this to share? Any help and
suggetion would highly appreciated.
