Hi

I have a box Windows 2003 Standard sp1 acting as AD,DHCP,DNS and WINS with
clients Windows XP pro sp2.

I bought a DELL computer and then join AD network. I enter the following
information to TCP/IP into the DELL computer

IP Address : 192.168.1.135 (generated by DHCP server)
Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
DHCP server : 192.168.1.100
DNS Server : 192.168.1.100

I used Computer A to ping this DELL computer, the result is time out. I
tried from Server to ping this DELL computer, the result is same.

Furthermore, I used Computer A to ping other computer in the AD network, it
is fine.

Please enlighten to me or any comment

Thanks

Jimmy

Have you checked the Windows Firewall on the Dell PC? It may be blocking
ICMP traffic.
