Hello,

I've to install FLEXlm licenses on a specific server.
But this server can't join the Domain because he hosts the Domain Controller
in a Virtual Machine!

FLEXlm licenses work with the server hostname and not with the server IP,
thus I have to add this serveur to the DNS.

Is it possible to add in the DNS, a server (or a workstation) which is not
member of the Domain (on a Windows2003 Domain Controller)?
If yes, could you explain me how to do?
If no, do you know another solution... like add the server (IP/hostname)
inside the "hosts" file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc) of all workstation?

Thanks for your help,
Chris

Hello chrbar,

Create an A record with the correct information about the Flex-server in
your DNS zones.
