Had a server go down, it was one of 2 wins/DNS servers in domain. Is there
any gotchas I need to look out for by adding another Wins/Dns server to the
domain? Is ther a correct way to add additional DNS/WINS server to domain?
Domain is mixed W2k and W2k3 DC's. Could not find anything specific
searching the KB. I'm sure that instruction is out there but I couldn't find
it Thanks

Just build them and turn them on.
Set the WINS's as push/pull partners of each other.

The DNS is best done by having more than one DC with DNS on each DC.
configure them identical with the same Forwarders on each.

Make sure all machines on the LAN list all the DNS's and WINS's in the
network setting (include them in the scope if using DHCP).

Hi

Phillip provided the greate information.

Yes, it is recommended that integrate DNS with AD because the replication
will happens automatically. However, you still can configure it to
replicate itself.

Regarding Wins server, check following article:

Hope this helps.
