Adapter not displaying in winipcfg

I have installed a new D-Link DFE-53TX+ ethernet PCI adapter card and completed installing the drivers as required. The adapter and the TCP/IP connection show up in device manager and from Control Panel->Networking. But when I run Winipcfg.exe, the ethernet adapter does not show up. Is there a problem with the drivers or installation? The vendor support people haven't been any help.
