The question is,I need to share files between the laptops, and change files
on either laptops from the other one.So is ad hoc mode the only option ?
Is AD HOC mode less secure than infrastructure mode?
I think with ad hoc mode, the network authentication can only be set to
"open" ???? is that correct?

In either mode, with encryption such as WEP,can anyone connect or do they
need the key ??? Does it matter if the network authentication ( i think it
is called) setting is "open" or "shared" ? Can it be set so that I can see
if someone is trying to log onto my network ??? or anything else???

I would like to connect a printer to the wireless router later,if the
settings are not less secure or fast than if i left the printer out.

The pc's are 2 laptops, one is a toshiba( i mention that because i saw that
there was some discussion about toshiba laptops and a network connection
problem)

Can anyone please help

TIA

Hi

Ad-Hoc is Wireless substitution to a cable when connecting two computers
that are not on a Network.

If you have a Wireless Router, you do not and should not use Ad-Hoc.

Sharing Files and Printers between two or more, Wired, and Wireless
computers that are connected to a Wireless Cable/DSL is done by setting the
Sharing on each computer. http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html
