Ad-Hoc/Infrastructure mix?

Hello to all. I have a small LAN at home configured as follows:

Linksys BEFSR41 Router/Switch
Linksys WAP11 Wired access Point
Linksys WPC11 Wireless Card 802.111b (Notebook)
Linksys WCF12 Wireless Compact Flash Card (802.11b) (Axim X5 Pocket PC)
3 wired Desktop PC's

Everything is working great (Thanks Mr. Helmig) and I have no problems.

I am adding a second Notebook that does not have an IR window, but has an
internal WiFi card. Since I use the IR port quite a bit to transfer files
to my Pocket PC I was wondering how I can take advantage of the WiFi
capability of both Notebook and PDA? My network is set up now as an
"Infrastructure" LAN. I understand this is necessary to communicate with
the wired PC's through the WAP11.
How can I transfer files via WiFi from the PDA to the Laptop without
changing the Network configuration?
Thanks in advance for all replies and best regards,
Morey G.

There is no need to change the mode.
The Access point will allow for the communication between wireless devices.

Paul,
Thanks for the reply. I was not clear in my post. What I want to be able to
do is communicate between the 2 via WiFi when I am AWAY from my network, on
the road.
Sorry for the confusion,
Morey G.

Yes you can do this by going adhoc, however when you get back you need to go
back into infrastructure mode.
When using adhoc ensure your using the same frequency and SSID and
encryption key if required.

You cannot seamlessly transfer between adhoc and infrastructure mode.
