Can Active Directory coexist with ICS in a peaceful manner (DHCP & DNS) ?

In most cases, no. AD depends on DNS, and only works properly if
everything uses the DNS service which has the extra AD entries.

ICS works by relaying all DNS requests to an external DNS service. This
is fine for remote sites, but it won't find the AD services.

Routing and Remote access provide an alternative to ICS that can be run with
dns and dhcp and active directory.

However if you are using a dial-up connection, the demand-dial function is
virtually impossible to regulate.

That's an option, but there's a problem with recognition of my USB PPPoE
connection (there isn't one to select) in RRAS NAT, i'm going to try again
with raspppoe driver...

No problem with that.

Thanks.

In addition to the other replies, can you not just get a gateway/firewall to
share out the Internet connection, presuming you're using broadband as it
seems you are? Make sure you don't use DHCP on this device, but leave it on
your server(s).

I hate ICS anyway. :-)
