Hi,
I am posting this because although there is a driver for
PCI cards from DLINK (DWL-520+ card), it is not clear to
me how to set things up once I have the driver working.
(The driver appears to work, but I cannot get connected.
I get the "NETWORK UNREACHABLE" error. When I run WINDOWS
on the same hardware, I can connect .. so the hardware is ok.)
I have read all the available HOW-TOs on this, and they
don't address how to set up the network with DHCP (using
this card), etc. The "netconfig" scripts don't work properly
for this either.
The scripts I saw on the websites were for static IP addresses
and my DI-714P+ router uses DHCP to connect. Does anyone out there
use DHCP with the DWL-520+ card? My eth0 needs to be the wireless
card as I have no other connection.
Network info:
Slackware LINUX 9.1 --> DWL-520+ (Dlink card)
Dlink DI-714P+ router w/DHCP
Other WINDOWs computers connected to router
I can't get my LINUX box to use the router infrastructure for the
network. I don't have my ISP gateway set up yet, but I should be
able to connect to the other computer (or at least ping them).
thanks,
