Don`t pre-install the software & modem.
I did just that.
The BT install engineer was with me for over 2 hrs
The line was tested okay.
But could not connect to remote computer for service.
In the end we assumed it was a faulty modem.
So when he left i uninstalled the modem & software.
Then reinstalled it.
HEY PRESTO
The line was working A1
The magical world of broadband was mine.
