My exchange (01406 36xxxx) is to be activated on 18th Feb. Does this mean
work starts on this date or it will be up and running on this date. If the
former how long is the work likely to take.

I have decided to go with Zen (I am with BT Satellite at the moment) Zen
will accept orders now. Can they test the line before the exchange is
activated or do they have to wait till the 18th and then test my line. I
need to give BT a months notice but I obviously cant cancel until I know my
line will pass.

The Zen availability checker says I SHOULD be able to receive the 2mbs
service.

Many thanx

John

our exchange was given a date of 5th Nov and pipex gave me an activation
date of 12th Nov - line was active 3 days early on the 9th. So I guess its
pretty quick.

Eons, countless eons beyond which your life, indeed the whole history of
the earth is the merest flicker.

They have to probe deeply into your soul, scouring your mind with their
harsh rays, and determine if you are worthy.
Either that, or they throw a die, I'm not sure.

Said I'd be able to too, though when I went to actually order (through
plusnet) failed at 1Mb, and I'm now putting through an order for 512K.
I think the checker uses the Precision Polyhedral Phoneline Parametiser
mentioned above.

Any installation will happen a few days after the exchange goes live,
the testing can only happen then.
You can order first.
