Hi all...

I'm trying to share Internet to LAN clients using a machine with Windows
Server 2003.

In RRAS MMC I realized that all ports, under Ports node, are inactive. The
Port I need to be active is WAN Miniport (PPPOE) (PPPoES-0), so that
connection to my ISP could be established.

Why that port appears inactive and how can I activate it?

Thanks a lot in advance
Jaime

Hi,
The port becomes active only when a connection is made over that port. Till
then, the MMC shows its state as 'Inactive' only

Thanks,

Under the RRAS menu in the MMC, select the network WAN (outside) connection
and select make this connection public. For your LAN (inside) connection
select make this connection private and enable NAT on that connection. Make
sure your clients use a gateway of the IP address of the LAN (inside) network
card and that all DNS information is correct for their network connections.
Make sure that your server uses a default gateway of the router/dsl modem
that you are using to access the internet. Ensure the DNS information is
correct on the server as well.
