Actiontec USB Adapter and XP Home

Hi,

yet another XP problem :-(

Running XP Home.

I have Googled for advice over XP and wireless, and have seen the
oft-repeated advice to disable the Wireless Zero service, uncheck the
'Windows Manage' box for the adapter, and manage the adapter with the
Actiontec-provided utility.

All well and good, except I don't seem to have an Actiontec utility.

If I disable 'Wireless Zero' then the card will not pick up a network, nor
is there anything I can find to configure it.

More confusing still, on an XP Pro system all works fine with Wireless Zero
running, plus I see an icon on the task bar for the Actiontec management
utility.

Confused, moi?

Is there something different about installing on XP Home, or have I just had
a bad install experience?

TIA

Dave R
