Account Lockout

We have 98 clients logging into a 2000 Server. Even though
we set the lockout policies to a high number of incorrect
attempts, the user can still lock the account with a few
incorrect password attempts.

This is a school and kids are trying to lock the account
on purpose.

Is there a way to disable the policy locally? I disabled
it in the AD but it will still be locked after a few
attempts.

Thanks
