It sounds like someone is messing with her machine when she walks away from
it and locking her out by trying to guess her password when the screen saver
prompts for it. Reset the screen saver to a very low time (like one
minute), wait for it to activate, then come "out of it" and enter the
credentials to get back into the machine. Does it fail and lock her out
then? Do the credentials work? If you get back into the machine just fine
with the credentials then someone is messing with the machine when she
leaves.
One other remote possibility is that some application is trying to kick
"off" the screen saver by displaying something on the desktop and is failing
over and over because it can't give credentials.
1. Clean up the machine. Remove anything from the machine that it doesn't
need to do its job.
2. Run Ad-Aware or Spybot S&D to cleanup the machine from all the "spyware"
that is probably on it.
3. Either get rid of the screen saver or at least remove the feature from it
that forces you to give credentials to get out of the screen saver. If you
are going to be away from the machine for a while, either just log out or
"lock" the machine with "Ctr-alt-Del" --> "Lock Workstation".
4. Keep and eye out for people fooling with the machine when she is away
from it.
