Accessing Windows 2000 share

I have a Win98 computer and a Windows 2000 computer. When
I try to access a share (either disk or printer) on the
Win 2K computer from the Win 98 computer, I get the
message:

You must supply a password to make this connection:
Resource: \\WIN2K\IPC$

I've tried every password I know, but I can't get past
this. I'm not using a domain, and each machine has the
same workgroup. How can I get past this error and access
the shares?

Thanks,

Tom

On the Windows 2000 PC, open the Control Panel, then the Users icon. Add a
user with the same name (and password, if one) you use to log onto your
Windows 98 PC.

I am in the same boat here. I am no stranger to computers
and networking. I have a user setup on the win2kpro
machine. When I log on with it in the win98 machine, it
still asks me foe a password. The user is set up as an
admin and the user has also been added to the shares. Does
anyone have any further suggetions?

Sounds silly, but have you hit enter (null password)?
Have you *set* and tried a password for the user?

You're not talking about the administrative share are you?

Does the user on the Windows 2000 PC have the same logon name and password
(if one is used) to start the Windows 98 PC?
