Use ssh.

The problem is do you have a static IP address?

To access your linux boxes from windows, checkout putty:
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

you'll be logging into that as if you were on the console.

For dynamic addresses, checkout: http://www.aboutdebian.com/dns.htm and
http://www.dyndns.org/

Brett.

You don't need a static IP. However, you do need to know your current
address. My cable ISP uses dhcp, but it's virtually static and my host
name is static, so I just use that host name and all is well.

Also, if you're using linux for a firewall, you can configure it to send an
e-mail, when the IP address changes. Many firewall/router boxes can be
configured to use a dynamic dns service.

I use no-ip.com for dynamic DNS and run its Unix update client from
/etc/ppp/ip-up (which automatically runs when my Linux pppoe gets an IP).

Of course for ssh, you need port 22 open in your firewall (and forwarded
if behind some other router). I require keys only (so password crack
attempts would be futile). PuTTY is a Windows ssh client (which can
import OpenSSH keys).
