Remote Desktop works differently internally than externally. When you are at
work and trying to connect to your home network through Remote Desktop, what
do you enter in the RDP client in the top line for the computer?

have you tried an alternative port in case your company is blocking 3389?
you'd use something like port 8000 and on the base station forward external
port 8000 to internal port 3389 to the IP of the computer at home. at work
you'd enter xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8000 as the destination.

while at the location where you want to use remote desktop, do a trace
route to your home IP. please double check that you have turned on
remote desktop on your home computer and not just remote assistance.

inside on the LAN is different than outside from a remote location.
