We have a morale network where I work and have WRT54G router with a couple
of access points attached to it. At peek use we have about 60 people
connected to it and the wireless bogs down. I was told that Routers can only
handle a small handfull of wireless connections.

So my question is are connections through the wireless access points
considered wireless to the router. Or wired since the access points are
wired to the router.

Also can we attach a switch to the router. Then attach access points to the
switch, could this help? Thanks

Have you set up these access point as repeaters or for roaming or ?

60 concurrent wireless connections is far more than a residential
grade router like the entry level WRT54G can handle.

You should repost in the wireless networking newsgroup as this group
is for the support of the (now discontinued) Microsoft branded
networking hardware.
