I have a speedtouch 780WL and a speedtouch 585 and both work fine except I
cannot access them after either has been used for a few hours which means I
cannot switch the wireless network on/off.
If I reboot the modem then it is fine for a few hours and the same happens
whichever unit I try.
One of my PC's is running 24/7 and uploads a 20kb file every 30 seconds and
another file every 120 seconds. Both computers on win XP Pro with kaspersky
antivirus and windows firewall set to default. Can always browse ok.

Anybody have any ideas?

TIA - Mick

Second that. I've got a Be branded 780WL that seems to be somewhat
sensitive to heat.

I suspected heat when the 780 was giving problems but thought unlikely when
the 585 did exactly the same - it's not exactly hot up here in Orkney.
Anybody have any advice ona really good modem/router preferably with

This is not the most tech-fashionable view, but I have been running
Belkin kit here in a hot part of Spain for some years, and it simply
keeps working. Wireless router is mounted high on my office wall,
and doesn't seem fazed by a temperature range of 15 - 30 C.

My 585 got very hot. It's now standing on a couple of wooden blocks
which lift it an inch or so off the desk - no problems now.
