Hi

A colleague has AOL Gold and access`s it through a Buffalo Airstation 54G
wireless Router

her internet access is fine apart from she cannot access www.egg.com

The Egg homepage comes up baut as soon as she clicks on My Accounts , it
refuses to respond.

We swapped the wireless point for a belkin point and that allows access ot
her accounts.

Every other secure site (Natwest , National Lottery , Amazon etc.......)
works fine , it is just egg.com.

Is there a setting somewhere we have missed somewhere as this is driving her
mad , and getting me puzzled.

Thansk in advance

Brian G

often these things are MTU related, especially if using a crippled ISP
like AOL that uses 1400 MTU. If your PC uses the default MTU of 1500
packets may get fragmented and this may cause blocking by a firewall
or secure server.

Set the PC and the router to 1400 MTU and it may go away, or at least
make sure the router setting matches the PC.

This didnt work either

We also cannot connect to egg.com if we use an ethernet cable to the router.

Howeve r, using a adsl modem direct to the laptop or computer allows access.

Next week we are getting a new router and will try that
