accesing an exchange server throught DSL and router

I am having problem accessing the exchange server through a linksys router
connected to a DSL modem with a static IP.

For my exchange Server name I enter the static IP of that server where DSL
is connected to but it always says server unavailable.

Do I have to free a port on the router? I tried to make that server into
the DMZ but it didnt help.

Exchange server needs full access to TCP port 135. If it is blocked, your only way to use
MS Outlook over DSL would be via a VPN to the corp. LAN.
