98 to XP Password

I have 2 users on the 98. Both log onto the XP via "peer to peer network by
router".

User 1 is never prompted "enter network password" User 2 is always prompted
iwth A dialogue box "Enter Network Password" it says "you must supply a
password to make this connection".

The first field on that dialogue box is filled in "\\xxxxxxxxxxx\IPC$" where
xxxx is name of the XP networked PC. The second line field is blank where a
"password" is supposed to be entered. Whatever password I enter is always
kicked off since I've never set it up with password just like in user 1,
cause I don't know HOW (lol). Even if I enter the blank line as THE password
it kicks it off saying "wrong password".

Any Ideas ?

Create a user account on the XP computer that matches the name (and
password, if one is used) for User 2.

I need to have User 2 restricted totally on the XP itself . Only certain
files are shared for User 2 to use on Win 98. Can I password protect User 2
on the XP with a different password other then User 2 has on the Win 98 Pc ?

Can I restrict access for User 2 on the XP PC in each directory via the
"properties/security" in explorer ?

No, the passwords must match.

And yes, you can use the Security tab to restrict user access to files and
folders on the XP computer.

I've got though another little problem logging Win 98 to XP.

Trying to share a data base (*.mdb ext) which is under a sub-directory HIS
which was installed under "programs" on the XP.

I've enabled "share" the HIS subdirectory, giving permission to the 2 users.
Yet the "HIS" directory does not show up in the Network Neighborhood.
Furthermore, when I check the Network Neighborhood on the XP, this HIS does
indeed show up albeit not in it's normal order in the directory.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
