98 Machines loosing mapped drives

I have a situation where I have to map 9 network drives
all to remote locations. On my XP and 2K machines, all
works well provided the wan links are up and stable. I
have two 98 machines though that repeatedly throughout the
day loose the mapped drives. The drives appear in my
computer, but it gives a "network name not available" when
accessing them. Sometimes a couple of the drives will
still work, but they sooner or later drop out. I'm mapping
to IP addresses rather than server or domain names, and
the WAN links are 10MB wireless. When the mapped drives
fail, I can still ping the IP addresses, and as I said the
XP and 2K workstations will run fine when this happens.
Usually rebooting (sometimes multiple times) will correct
the problem, but as the machine is up throughout the day,
the drives will again begin dropping out.

I have applied all critical updates to these machines, and
any other updates that seemed approproate.

Any ideas?

You may reply to me at ricky at entercomp dt com as I
check this newsgroup infrequently.

Thank you in advance!

Ricky

Hi Ricky,

I have a similar problem. Did you find any solution?

Thanks,

Roman
