98 group policy problems on 2k domain

here is the problem that i am having.
98 user policys work fine, i dont want to have to set up
75 different user policys. i creadted a group policy in
poledit and set it up the same way as the user policy.

on the 2k server i have a group called d206 and in that
group the users that i want the 98 group policy to effect.
i have the logon script in the netlogon folder on the
server.

i guess im lost in how to get the 98 policy to apply to
the group in 2k.

Do the Windows 98 clients have the Active Directory client software (found
on the Windows 2000 Server CD) installed? If they don't then they don't see
AD and don't get any settings from it.

Windows 98 won't get group policy from AD even if they have the client
installed.
