has anyone else had this problem?
I have BT Broadband and when downloading anything (the actual server does
not matter, as it happens on all of them) after 9 mins the d/l goes from
50KBPs to 0 and then I have to stop the D?L and reconnect. Immediately the
connection goes back up to say, 55KBPs and then after around nine mins,
again it drops out.

Anyone else having this or had it and found a solution BTi are no use
whatsoever.

I should also say that testing with the BT speed tester web site gives me a
speed of 1857 KBPs to download a 1.7mb file

It really does sound more like the source of the download that is the
problem - you could have the fastest download known to man but if the source
has a slow or poor connection, you get £$%^&.

Its BT broadband 8mb (but i should only get a max of 6.5MB)
Connecting through a Netgear DG814 Modem/Router

I should say that I have also BT broadband talk, connected through a Voyager
10V which when making a call also cuts off around the 9 min mark.

I have tried connecting the Ethernet cable direct into the DG814 without the
Voyager and it makes no difference.

I get the downloads stopping on all sorts of pages, from p2p all the way
through to the big boys when downloading updates to my programmes.

I also get web pages suddenly failing to load.

this has only started since "upgrading" from 2mb to 8mb....

Using my browser [IE6] I can access my router and change the DHCL settings.
I had never looked before but my 'lease time' seems to be set at 1 day 0
hours 0 minutes 0 seconds. This must be the default.

If you can look easily - go ahead, other wise let me know the type of router
and I shall see what I can find.
