Looking for some informed Linux/Auditor/BackTrack opinions... I'm a newb.

OK, I have a Proxim 8470-WD (b/g with antennae connector, and supposedly can
do 108Mbs), a D-Link DWL-G650 (b/g 108Mbs) and a Netgear WG511 (a/b/g). My
laptop already has built in WIFI, 54g chipset (doesn't work with Linux...).

I purchased the D-Link DWL-650 to go with my D-Link DI-624 router. the
8470-WD shows that it can connect at 108. I use the same "generic" Atheros
drivers so I can swap between cards in WinXP as needed.

Is there any reason to purchase a Proxim 8480-WD (a/b/g)? It just seems that
the two Proxims and the D-Link are basically the same card.

Also, why are all the crazy high power, dual antenna cards only 802.11 b???
With most AP's out there being 802.11 g, and likely locked down for g, why
would one need or want a b card?

I like the Proxim cards, may sell the D-Link (even though no problems with
it).

Thanks!
