802.16a - "Wifi-Max" - Good links?

I've been looking at a few reviews over that last year of the this
WISP standard. Just looked over the most recent Laptop magazine and
they said more products should be out by the end of 2004. And that
Intel is going to invest quite a bit within the year. This article
had a picture of a Linksys/Cisco 802.16 bridge.

With omni-antennia I've heard they whould connect around a mile. I'm
not sure if they meant radius or diameter, ether or, that's still very
good.

Anyways, like the subject says, any recromended links to research?
Any links of the intro-encriptions they are going to use? Frequency
base? Lisenced or Non-Lisenced Frequencies being used?
