Hey,

When I run Windows (sorry) on my notebook, I can monitor the "Signal" and
"Noise" levels (in dBm) of the build-in wireless network card via its "WLAN
Card Utility" window.

I want to access the same types of data (signal and noise levels on the
wireless network adapter) from a C++ application running in Fedora Core
Linux!.

Can anybody tell me how to obtain these data from a C/C++ application in
Linux?
Which brand name, model wireless network adapter, (either in PCCard or USB)
can provide more accurate signal and noise values?
Do you know a 802.11 wireless network adapter with external antenna
connection option and desirably with "high" RF output power?

Thanks

Samishen Doncap

If you use iwconfig, it should display those information, look at the
source code for that and see where did he pick up the info. Something
make me think that he merely look in the /proc filesystem, somewhere.
